Josh Rose

                     Josh Rose is a Canadian artist and musician based in Vancouver BC, with an avid and varied interest in music, sound, and performance. He has performed and recorded internationally under his own name as well as the moniker Sick Buildings, and is a member of the performance and musical groups LEVIATHANS, Blouse, and The Bastion Mews, as well as the rock bands Robe & Allied and Cowards. He frequently collaborates with artist Sam McKinlay (The Rita) on the ongoing project BT.HN. – La Bete Humaine, a sound and performance exercise dealing with representations of social violence and the working class in the early 20th century works of the French and Italian Neo-Realists, Jean Renoir, and Emile Zola. Since 2005 Rose has operated the independent record label Rundownsun, releasing numerous limited edition cassette, LP, and 7" recordings by Canadian and International noise and experimental musicians in that time. His work explores conceptual ideas around sound and the body, tension, provocation and transgression.
